Returns & Refunds
At Hatch & Hive, everything we do is rooted in care - for our birds, our products, and our customers. We want you to feel confident when ordering from us, and we’ll always do our best to put things right if something isn’t as expected.
Because we sell both hatching eggs and handcrafted coops, our returns policy varies slightly depending on what you’ve ordered.
Hatching Eggs
Our hatching eggs are carefully selected and packed with great care. However, they are naturally delicate and their success depends on many factors beyond our control - including handling during transit and incubation conditions at home.
For that reason:
- We’re unable to accept returns or offer refunds on hatching eggs once they’ve been dispatched
- We can’t guarantee hatch rates
That said, if your eggs arrive in poor condition (for example, multiple eggs broken in transit), please email us within 24 hours of delivery with photos. We’ll always review this fairly and do what we can to help.
Chicken Coops & Supplies
Our coops and equipment are built to last and designed with both you and your hens in mind.
If something isn’t quite right, you can return unused items within 30 days of delivery, as long as they are:
- In their original condition
- Unused and unassembled
- In the original packaging
If Something Arrives Damaged
We take great care in packaging, but occasionally things can go wrong in transit.
If your order arrives damaged or faulty, please let us know within 48 hours, including photos where possible. We’ll make it right - whether that’s a replacement, repair, or refund.
How Returns Work
To arrange a return, simply:
- Email us at enquiries@hatchandhive.co.uk with your order details
- Wait for confirmation from our team
Please don’t return items without contacting us first - we want to make sure everything is handled smoothly for you.
Refunds
Once we’ve received and checked your return, we’ll let you know the outcome.
If approved, your refund will be processed back to your original payment method within a few working days.
Shipping
- Return postage costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item is faulty
- Original delivery charges are non-refundable
For larger or higher-value items, we recommend using a tracked service for peace of mind.
Exchanges
If you need a replacement due to damage or a fault, just get in touch and we’ll arrange it for you.
